Described by Jazz Wise as ‘a brilliant improviser’, guitarist Romain Pilon has gained international recognition through his albums. He has toured as a leader in many countries around the world (USA, Japan, etc.) and has played and recorded with Brian Blade, Ben Wendel, Jeff Ballard, Seamus Blake, Walter Smith III, Baptiste Trotignon, Pierre de Bethmann, Sylvain Luc and Linda May Han Oh, among others.
He is back at 38Riv to present his new album and most personal project to date: Open Roads. For the occasion, he is joined by the exceptional Fred Pasqua on drums and Gabriel Sauzay on double bass.
With poetic writing that plays with textures and moods, the trio's music draws on multiple influences, from Led Zeppelin to Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis and Eric Satie. A wonderful evening in store.
