Melissa Lesnie - I Want to be Evil

Velours, velours — A kind of cabaret

For Halloween, 38Riv invites you to spend the afternoon in the dark side of jazz.

On the agenda: the darkest or cheekiest standards from Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Eartha Kitt, and Frank Sinatra. Songs where ghosts and witches mingle with vampires and demons... and where, sometimes, the most frightening thing is the love that continues to haunt us.

This 'spooky' and wicked program has been concocted in the cauldron of Siberian pianist Julia Perminova and Australian singer Melissa Lesnie. As a bonus, Melissa offers us a rare chance to hear the theremin: this ghostly instrument played without being touched has haunted horror film soundtracks for nearly 100 years.

Leave your good resolutions at the door.

Mélissa Lesnie : vocals, theremin
