The moment just before. The instant, the second that stretches into infinity. Sudden awareness. Free Fall seeks to capture this moment. The moment when everything is still possible. But also the moment when the choice is made. The album has captured this moment.
The leap into the void is that of the manifesto, of filiation, of “dedication” to a musical history and tradition. Humility before the “Monument” and the colossal legacy of a music with deep roots and vigorous branches.
The recording was made over two days, without post-production, with Christophe, Bruno, and Stefano in the same room, and almost entirely with a single microphone. An old French ribbon microphone.
