Valentin Martel, drummer, singer and guitarist, delivers a repertoire that he has built up over time and through encounters. All stories and anecdotes that he takes pleasure in sharing on stage with sincerity. This multi-instrumentalist started out as a self-taught drummer in his teens, singing everything he played. So it was only natural that he should make more room for singing in his life and on stage.
Valentin Martel Trio is first and foremost a shared history between three passionate musicians who have been rocked by the jazz of Oscar Peterson, Monty Alexander and Kurt Elling since childhood. Their music is always tinged with a hint of blues, a smile and infectious energy!
