The 38Riv is a club nestled in a 13th-century vaulted cellar in the heart of Paris' Marais district. An unusual venue, it nonetheless follows in the tradition of jazz clubs, offering intimacy, an intimate atmosphere, unobstructed views of the stage, stone vaults, and warm acoustics.

38Riv develops a program that is mainly jazz, but open to hybrid forms. A true artistic crossroads, the club actively supports the French scene, while regularly welcoming international artists, and gives pride of place to emerging talent and creativity.

Founded in 2008 by Vincent Charbonnier, a former double bassist with an international career (notably with Jacques Loussier's Play Bach Trio), 38Riv was born after a stroke interrupted his career as a musician. The club became a way for him to rediscover, every evening, the artistic emotions carried by the magic of live performance.

Based on this founding vision, 38Riv is now run by a team of 10 professionals. Heirs to a deeply human adventure, they strive to make the club ever more welcoming and lively, so that each event remains a unique experience for the audience!

At 38Riv, the bar is tucked away at the back of the room... if you dare to go there! More than just a service, it is a place to meet and socialize before, during, or after concerts. It offers a carefully selected range of wines, beers, cocktails,and spirits, designed to accompany the evening and prolong the pleasure of the music.
