Marwan Allam is a Tunisian bassist, composer and bandleader based in New York. An award-winning artist, he studied jazz at the Prins Claus Conservatory in the Netherlands. Since then, he has built an international career that bridges different musical cultures. He has performed at numerous prestigious festivals and venues around the world. These include the Cairo Jazz Festival in Egypt and several festivals in Tunisia such as Hammamet, Tabarka and Carthage. He has also performed in Europe, Asia and the United States. Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Marc Cary, Tarek Yammani and Ari Hoenig. In New York, he performs regularly at iconic clubs such as Smoke Jazz Club and Smalls. In 2024, he released his debut album, Bab Bhar. This project explores the convergence of jazz, North African traditions and Arab-Andalusian music.
