Jeanne Michard, a saxophonist and composer who won the “Revelation” category at the 2023 Victoires du Jazz with two critically acclaimed albums, is now firmly established on the French jazz scene.
Both a bandleader and a sideman, she shares the stage with, among others, Rhoda Scott, Emile Londonien, Hugh Coltman, as well as with several collectives, including the Paris Jazz Sessions, the Zoot Collectif and Déluge – all active and recognised musicians on the French and international jazz scene. She also turned her attention to the electro/hip-hop scene by joining the Chinese Man line-up in 2025. A performer as well as a composer, her collaborations led her to write and arrange for various ensembles ranging from a quintet to a big band and brass band. In 2025, she moved closer to the electro-groove scene with new creative projects. In search of new sounds and collaborations, she works on a repertoire with electronic and distorted elements, shifting from a trans rock vibe to a dreamy world layered with synthesiser pads. Le 38 Riv has given her carte blanche to premiere this new work, which she will perform over three dates with three different line-ups assembled especially for these occasions.
