The carte blanche sessions at 38Riv have become a ritual for these four musicians, all leaders, composers, and side musicians in various ensembles. Tonight, they share a repertoire that explores their respective universes, united by a shared affinity for well-crafted melodies and the surprises that arise from their on-stage collaboration.

Gautier Garrigue is a drummer, guitarist, and composer born in 1987 in the south of France. Graduating from the Conservatory in 2002, he quickly made a name for himself on the jazz scene by collaborating with prestigious artists such as Henri Texier, Michel Portal, Seamus Blake, Christian Scott, Emile Parisien, Baptiste Trotignon, Kyle Eastwood, and Enrico Pieranunzi.

He is the co-leader of the group Flash Pig, winner of the 2024 Album of the Year award from the Académie du Jazz. His debut album under his own name, La Traversée, released in the fall of 2024, received unanimous acclaim.

Described by Jazz Mag as one of the most sensitive and nuanced drummers on the current scene, he was a finalist in 2025 in the "Revelation of the Year" category at the Victoires du Jazz and won the prestigious Django Reinhardt Prize from the Académie du Jazz the following year, awarded to the best musician of the year.
