A double bassist, composer and versatile musician, Léna Aubert performs with a variety of ensembles spanning diverse genres: jazz, classical music, Greek music, Breton and Irish music, and Venezuelan music.
Passionate about writing and arranging, she composes and arranges for ensembles ranging from trios to large ensembles such as big bands or more hybrid formations.
For this first carte blanche, she has invited pianist Irina Leach. Exploring the spaces created by the duo, the two musicians blend composition and improvisation, playing with passing melodies back and forth, accompanying each other in turn, whilst shaping sonic textures.
