Adèle Viret
Adèle Viret is a French cellist, improviser, and composer, and a rising star on the jazz and improvised music scene. Winner of the Victoires du Jazz 2025 – Révélation award, she has made a name for herself with the Adèle Viret Quartet, which has won Jazz Migration and Euroradio Jazz Competition awards and has performed on major European stages. Their first album, Close to the Water (2024), has been praised by critics (Jazz Magazine, Jazz News).
Trained in classical cello in France and then at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, she has developed an eclectic career combining jazz, improvisation, and contemporary music. She collaborates with major artists such as Magic Malik, Fabrizio Cassol, Aka Moon, and João Barradas. Committed to interdisciplinary and intercultural projects, she has founded several collectives and created works for dance, theater, and the international stage. At the same time, she has been given carte blanche (Jazz Station, Bozar), composes, and has established herself as a leading artist of her generation.
