Originally from Naples, Katia Schiavone moved to Paris in 2016 to pursue her musical studies in jazz guitar and double bass. In Paris she regularly performs as a guitarist for a number of projects by French artists, but she also manages her own groups, including trio, quartet and quintet. In 2020 she discovered gypsy jazz when she joined guitarist Noé Reinhardt's trio, with whom she recorded an album in 2021.

Katia has developed her musical taste around traditional American jazz, as well as Brazilian and Neapolitan songs, creating a mix of swing, Mediterranean melodies and blues. The music of her groups is both inspired by New York jazz, with pieces by composers such as Wes Montgomery, Grant Green, Cedar Walton and Duke Pearson, and by Italian colours and music, with very pleasant melodies and almost exotic sounds, as in the case of her original pieces that will be presented this evening.
