Pierre Perchaud & Chris Jennings
Chris Jennings and Pierre Perchaud met in 2004 in Paris during a trio concert. From this encounter over twenty years ago, the Jennings/Perchaud Duo Acoustique was born immediately. Starting in 2004, they embarked on a shared adventure with a series of duo concerts in the Netherlands, including one at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. In 2007, the duo was in residence in the Canadian Rockies at the Banff Centre for Arts, followed by a tour and recordings for Canadian National Radio (CBC). The meeting of these two musicians around their original compositions has allowed them to develop inspired music that harmonizes writing and improvisation, drawing influences from both jazz and folk or classical music. Chris Jennings and Pierre Perchaud share an evident joy and complicity in their music, which drives them to seek out more opportunities to play together.
"These two decades have allowed us to follow different paths that have continuously intersected, diverged, and reconnected, enriching this friendly and musical complicity with new colors and sounds that harmonize writing and improvisation, both in jazz and in folk or classical music.
