| Jazz, blues

At the crossroads of jazz, soul, and blues.
A demanding musician with a strong temperament, she came from a gospel background and played with Lionel Hampton's orchestra in the 1940s.
Her repertoire lies at the crossroads of jazz, blues, and rhythm & blues, with numerous hits in the 1950s and 1960s, notably her recordings for Mercury Records.
Noticed in the biggest European clubs and festivals, Marion Chrétien made a name for herself with the famous Glossy Sisters and Shades Vocal Band, with whom she has given more than 500 concerts over the past 10 years in France and abroad.
She is now established as one of the most distinctive voices on the French jazz scene.
She has performed on some of the most prestigious stages: Jazz à Vienne, Crest Jazz Vocal (Jury and Audience Awards), La Nuit Jazz Magazine at Le Trianon, the Tahiti Jazz Festival alongside Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Tanjazz in Tangier.
