Italian by birth and Parisian by adoption, Karim Blal is a pianist who is as inventive as he is virtuosic. Nurtured by listening to the great names of jazz, he quickly forged his own style, while remaining deeply attached to the tradition of the great pianists, an influence that is clearly evident in his music.
Already highly respected by his peers, Karim has had the opportunity to train with major figures such as Barry Harris and Kenny Barron. He has performed on many renowned stages around the world: from the Blue Note Milano in Italy to the Victoria Nasjonal Jazzscene in Norway, the Fasching Jazz Club in Sweden, the Chorus Jazz Club in Switzerland and the Minsk Philharmonic in Belarus.
Always on the move, his music is bursting with energy and naturally blends great standards with personal compositions. Accompanied by his trio, Karim navigates between jazz heritage and more contemporary sounds.
