Federica Lorusso trio

Born in Bari, Italy, Federica Lorusso (pianist, singer, composer) has always had a deep passion for the arts. A graduate in piano from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, she also holds a master's degree in jazz singing and piano from the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Her unique style, which harmoniously blends piano and voice, sets her apart on the contemporary jazz scene.

As a bandleader, Federica released her debut album, Outside Introspections (ZenneZ/Abeat), in 2022, followed by Incontri in February 2025 under the Dutch label ZenneZ Records. Incontri, featuring Ben Van Gelder, was nominated for the Edison Jazz Award – Publieksprijs 2025, a significant recognition of her artistic talent.

She has performed at prestigious festivals and concert halls around the world, including the Transition Festival in Utrecht, the Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam, the Athens Jazz Festival, JazzMi, Fano Jazz in Italy, and the Canarias Jazz Y Más International Festival.

Beyond her European training, Federica spent four pivotal months in New York, where she studied at The New School with renowned artists. This experience enriched her musical approach and deepened her understanding of jazz, significantly influencing the compositions of her latest album.
