Following Eric Seva's “Nomades sonores” quartet adventure in the 2010s, the two soloists decided to continue their joint experience by exploring an intimate and completely new formula: the trombone/baritone saxophone duo, a blend of sounds that exudes a woody, deep, and powerful vibration...
The repertoire draws on a shared imaginary folklore, interweaving multiple popular music styles from the 20th century and, above all, from around the world.
Between Piazzola and Grappelli, Brazil and musette waltzes, the two acrobats perform a veritable tour de force: remaining upright at all times, without a safety net or support, like two tightrope walkers.
This constant risk-taking does not prevent them from expressing their sensitivity and the lyricism of true melodists, with great sensitivity.
Eric Séva has been one of the great saxophonists on the French scene since the 1990s. A long-time member of Didier Lockwood's band, a musician with Chris Rea and the Orchestre National de Jazz, he has been developing his career as a leader since 2005, recording seven albums that have been unanimously acclaimed by critics.
Trombonist for the bands of Claude Nougaro, Manu Dibango, and Tony Allen, co-leader with Thomas De Pourquery of a quintet for 17 years, and founder of a trio with Vincent Peirani, Daniel Zimmermann has been nominated several times for the Victoires du Jazz awards for his recordings as a leader.
