Diego Imbert invites two outstanding musicians for a unique evening featuring a new repertoire.
A French double bassist and composer born in Paris, Diego Imbert is one of the most important voices in French jazz. After starting out on the violin and then the electric bass, he devoted himself to the double bass in 1995, studying with Jean-François Jenny-Clark, Hein van de Geyn, and Eddie Gómez, among others. He has established himself as a highly sought-after musician, working alongside artists such as Archie Shepp, Didier Lockwood, Aldo Romano, and Richard Galliano, and has participated in numerous major projects in contemporary French jazz.
Leader of his own quartet since 2008, he has released several acclaimed albums and explores a lyrical and narrative repertoire, enriched by literary and musical influences. His work with Alain Jean-Marie on Interplay – The Music of Bill Evans was awarded the 2020 French Record Prize by the Académie du Jazz.
A subtle improviser, committed composer, and inspiring teacher, Diego Imbert embodies a deeply human modernity in jazz, attentive to every musical breath.
