| New album “Warp & Weft” (PK Musik label)
In fabric manufacturing, the warp and weft are the essence of weaving, transforming loose threads into cloth. The warp is vertical and taut, held under tension, while the weft moves horizontally, crossing and binding everything together.
In this project, Christophe Panzani (Anne Paceo, Vincent Peirani, Gaël Faye, Hocus Pocus, 20syl) and Ziv Ravitz (Avishai Cohen, Mark Turner, Lee Konitz, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Shai Maestro, Esperanza Spalding) continually exchange these roles—sometimes warp, sometimes weft—intertwining their contributions in the musical fabric. The music emerged slowly, thread by thread, each strand finding its place over time. That's why the recording took two years: it wasn't a conventional project. Time itself became a material, woven into the fabric of the work.
