Tony Tixier is a French-American pianist and composer who trained in classical piano before turning to jazz and improvisation, developing a musical identity that blends composition and improvisation. At a very young age, he performed on major stages alongside artists such as Dee Dee Bridgewater, Marcus Miller and McCoy Tyner, before moving to New York and becoming a permanent fixture on the international jazz scene. In 2012, he released Dream Pursuit with his American quartet, which was critically acclaimed and named ‘Revelation’ by Jazz Magazine.
Beyond jazz, he has collaborated with Andrea Bocelli, Jon Batiste, Usher, Juliette Armanet and DJ Deep, and has performed as a pianist on America's Got Talent and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He has performed at iconic venues such as the Blue Note NYC, Jazz in Marciac and the Apollo Theater, and has composed with his brother Scott for Janet Cardiff at the Louis Vuitton Foundation. Tony Tixier develops contemporary, expressive and accessible music at the crossroads of jazz, pop and international variety.
