With ‘A New Home’, his first album as a leader, drummer and composer Archibald Ligonnière unveils a modern, lyrical and accessible jazz style. Backed by an exceptional quintet (Stéphane Guillaume, Tom Ibarra, Jean-Yves Jung, Gildas Boclé), he creates music rich in harmonies and emotions, both intimate and luminous. Inspired by the creation of his personal studio during the pandemic, ‘A New Home’ is a quest for balance between virtuosity and simplicity, between collective energy and personal sensitivity.
