Alexis Valet invite Joe Sanders
Alexis Valet continues his residency at 38Riv, featuring high-profile guests and always accompanied by fellow musicians.
The music explores a space of intense and fluid improvisation.
An extraordinary double bassist, rare on French stages, Joe Sanders crafts bold musical trajectories. Now based in the south of France, this major figure in contemporary jazz is recognized for the depth of his playing, his exceptional sense of listening, and his ability to navigate between aesthetics with remarkable freedom. A sought-after collaborator, he has accompanied iconic artists for over twenty years, including Joshua Redman, Ben Wendel, Gerald Clayton, Kendrick Scott, Charles Lloyd, and Logan Richardson. Present on numerous significant recordings in the international jazz scene, he simultaneously develops a unique personal body of work that intersects modern jazz, blues, Afro-Latin music, folk, and contemporary influences. Following "Introducing Joe Sanders" and "Humanity," he will release his new album, "Parallels," in 2026, an intimate and ambitious project that reveals the richness of his musical universe and confirms his place among the most creative voices of his generation.
