Three evenings, three voices.
A journey through three major figures of vocal jazz—each essential in her own way, yet often told from the margins.
The series begins with Lorez Alexandria, a contemporary of Sarah Vaughan, whose legacy has remained more understated. Gifted with rare warmth and individuality, she is a major source of inspiration for Estelle Perrault.
Next comes Carmen McRae, a voice of clarity, precise phrasing, and subtle irony—a unique way of expressing things with directness.
Finally, we turn to the 1980s with Marlena Shaw. Estelle will present her repertoire, that of a great singer with a playful, sensual, and liberated energy.
More than a concert, each evening offers a deep dive—bringing these voices to life, sharing their stories, and capturing what they transformed in jazz and what they continue to pass on.
