Lisa Cat-Berro
Lisa Cat-Berro's second album (nominated for the Victoires du Jazz 2013), "Good Days Bad Days," is a testament to a journey and transformation that serves as both an inner travelogue and a personal diary. The saxophonist reaffirms her songwriting talents and, for the first time, shares the intimacy of her sung voice, playfully and tenderly responding to those who have long said she plays like she sings.
Ten tracks, five songs and five instrumentals, tell the story of a transformation, even a rebirth. These soulful songs, born from the necessity of accepting the succession of days as they come, good or bad, speak to us of reincarnation, changing times, fruitful waiting, and the light that emerges from simplicity.
To bring these "folksongs" to life, she chose to continue the path begun with the musicians of her quartet, fueled by the joy of hearing the pieces take shape and build with them. The band's sound, infused with folk and instrumental pop, has matured over time, giving true depth to this music that seeks to reflect the life energy and resilience present in each of us.
