Julie Saury Quartet

Family Affair" was born from a musical and familial encounter centered around a shared passion for jazz. This adventure truly came to life with the desire to share the stage with our respective children, in order to keep a family tradition alive.

Through this quartet, the musicians aim to shine a light on a musical heritage that is often overlooked by exploring a repertoire dedicated to female jazz composers, whose essential contributions to the history of this music have too often been pushed to the background.

Balancing respect for tradition with interpretative freedom, the quartet fosters a dialogue between generations through a common musical language, celebrating both the legacy of jazz and the role of women who have contributed to its evolution. An artistic project driven by the desire to share and introduce the public to treasures from the jazz repertoire.
