Nominated for a Victoires du Jazz award in the Revelation category in 2021, Tony Paeleman is a unique musician who combines his roles as producer, sound engineer, accompanist, and bandleader with exceptional insight. He has crossed paths with Vincent Peirani, Anne Paceo, Youn Sun Nah, Émile Parisien, Marion Rampal, and others.
Tony Paeleman approaches this new opus, Wise Animals, through a very personal prism. While he brings together the trio whose birth was warmly welcomed with the release of The Fuse in 2021, this time it is an artistic gesture whose significance resonates far beyond music alone.
This new album expresses contrasting and sometimes conflicting feelings, singing the praises of the beauty of nature and the animal world, which touch the heart and move us deeply. It also expresses the fear of the destruction of this beauty, of the disappearance of these species, like the anticipated nostalgia for a world that is collapsing, suffocated by human hyperactivity devoid of conscience.
